Asus Called... They want to look at it again... and then think about things.
So Aaron, the ASUS rep contacted me. Now here is the offer, I can send it to California and they will if they can reproduce the problem and replace it and for the time burned on my warranty 3 months. So after multiple times, sending it to California is suppose to be different considering the history the system has.
Now they are not giving me an upgrade, same system and they didn't say new either. When I asked if he was joking they burned 5 months of warranty time and give me 3, he bumped it to 6 months addtional.
My counter offer was simple replace the system, it has history it's defective and I'm not playing this game. He said that is the only way they will do it. My reply is then that is where we stand, you haven't done much of anything but have me jump through hoops and five months in your offer is insulting. Asus has cost me money as I had to buy an additional system.
I would like to say I bought it it because of the I7 core and I love intel chips, though my custom built AMD is nothing to sneeze at with it's multicore. However I usually buy HP products, my laptops and everything are HP, workstations at the office have their lovely Logo.
While HP use to be plentiful with their basic warranty and some of that has changed, they do fix it right on the first shot and never have they not solved a problem within 30 days. Never have they sent a computer back damaged or not working properly. Then again I have used their service twice, once on a desktop and once on a laptop in the decade I've used their products. My old 32 Pentium III system still runs to this day. The laptops, due to airplane rides and just the discontinue of their batteries have all died natural technological age related deaths.
That said, you can see that Asus will not be getting repeat business and pretty much don't care.

So They get back to me...
So I have been chatting with an Asus rep, who Said he would check into the problem. Which translates to my computer being sent back with an invalid copy of windows. So I contacted the credit card copy with all documentation. State also got back to me as well, so this should get interesting.

And the Crickets Keep Chirping.
So it's been awhile. I sent a postal letter off to their Asus Corp in California, alas nothing back. So I've contacted the Credit Card Company to see about buyer protection and also waiting for the Case Number back from the Consumer Protection division of the Attorney General's Office. Sent the system back to Asus using their return postage and let's see what happens.

Yep NO OS, Not working and now it comes back damaged
Ok, now I know this is a joke. The system was sent back with the same problem and I got the same run around. Went to Best Buy and they said if ASUS sent them something they would agree to a Desktop swap.
So wrote to ASUS to see if they will agree given the history and gave them a link to the blog.
Because I am tired of writing about it, I took pictures of ASUS tech repair abilities and even have VIDEO. Maybe this will go Viral for IT techs to giggle at.
And this is what it sounds like with the power on!

If you listen carefully you can tell while the computer was running ASUS techsupport recorded message is in the background. It's really funny as at the time it was talking about quality products and support. Oh the comedy.

Asus sent it back without the OS
Ok, Asus sent it back three weeks later. They replaced the CPU but no OS recovery, matter of fact the BIOS doesn't even show the Hard drive. One hour later on tech support and back it goes. Maybe they'll fix it this time.

The Wrong System Discs?
Geek Squad just told me the discs were wrong and I was going to have to send the system to Asus for a system recovery. I get my money back for the System discs as the Estore doesn't seem to carry my OS restore discs for my computer.

How do you like your CPU and Motherboard?
Got the system back, seems the Motherboard and CPU were fried, there is no interior exhaust fan (for an I7 core Intel chip). The OS was not installed, as they didn't have the disks (no, I'm not making this up). So back I went and brought the Discs with me and out it went, another three weeks.

Recovery Disk Error
So I bought my Asus CG8350-06 Essentio system from Best Buy in May 2011. Which for a desktop is usually the end of the story for about 5 years. In July the system suffered a failure and the restore imae didn't work, so I contacted Asus tech support and over a period of time discovered and ordered Recovery Software, only to have a restoration failure. So after talking to Asus I took the computer to Geek Squad, who didn't need the restore disks and now have to wait three weeks.

Best Buy takes it to fix it
Much to my lack of surprise, instead of just replacing the system they took it back and are trying to fix it.
This ought to be good.
This ought to be good.
